Sea of Thieves
What We’d Love To Sea…See Added

So the Sea of Thieves update, Ships of Fortune is very nearly upon us (22/04/2020) and with it comes a whole bounty of changes and additions

- Act as an emissary for Trading Companies
- New Trading Company ‘Reapers Bones’
- Overhaul of the Arena game type

This got us to thinking, what additions would
Shake N Bake Gaming like to see brought to the Sea of Thieves.
We love this game, it looks amazing, is great fun (if not challenging at times) and let’s us release our inner Pirate (check out our Roleplay series here)

So here’s our list of things we’d love to see implemented/changed in Sea of Thieves.

- A way to breathe longer underwater. I’m sure we’ve all been there, deep diving a shipwreck only to run out of air and then get stuck on the ships hull as you fight for your life. We think you should be able to find or buy some kind of snorkel or breathing aid that allows you to stay underwater that little bit longer. This could be hand held so when you do find a chest or gem you have to remove it and then swim to the surface like normal.

- Satchels. I am so used to items being automatically added to my inventory, especially quest items in other games, so much so that recently when taking part in a tall tale I picked up a key/gem stone and accidentally dropped it thinking that it would be added to my inventory instead of needing to carry it everywhere (silly me). It would be great if we had access to Satchels, which again could be purchased, in which small items like keys, gems etc could be stored, without having to constantly go back to your ship. Of course, when you die you would drop your current satchel and those scurvy dogs could loot your satchel for the rewards inside.

- More weapon choices. I know the game obviously needs to stay true to the themes and tech that would be available but we’d love to see a more varied array of weapons. Obviously blunder bombs etc have been added which make a nice addition and variation but a crossbow or bow and arrow would be a cool addition (preferably a crossbow IMO) this could then give the option of lots of different types of arrows, much along the same line as the cannon balls, arrows that make you dance, make you drunk, poison you etc.

Daggers would be a nice addition too, something faster than the swords/rapiers. Lower damage but faster attacks. Think of all those pretty dagger inscriptions/engravings that could be added through customisation too!

- Ship naming. Everyone probably already has a ship name picked out, it would be great if we could actually name the ships properly in game. When customising your sails, cannons etc it would be nice to be able to ‘paint on’ the name of your ship. Then when you’re in fights you can track down those scurvy dogs who sank you earlier.

- More ship aesthetics, like gang-planks, so you can at least roleplay making your shipmates walk the plank. It’s a classic Pirate thing to do right?!

- Designing your own flag. Obviously, this goes down the rabbit hole of customisation in general but even being able to select from a range of pre-set icons, shapes, text to create your own flag/sail designs would be a nice addition.

The ideas could continue (and they probably will) but if you have any things you’d like to see added to Sea of Thieves or have any thoughts on our additions let us know on Twitter
